The quality charter

To be recommended by France Thalasso Thalassotherapy centres need to adhere to the syndicate’s quality charter and respect all its commitments:

An exceptional seaside location, a protected environment.

There aren’t thalassotherapies in cities, on mountains or elsewhere; they are exclusively in a prime location by the sea.

The use of natural seawater.

Seawater is the most balanced of the thermal waters. Fresh seawater heated to a comfortable temperature recharges the body by transferring minerals and trace elements through the skin. It is never kept more that 24 hours.

Medical surveillance for a serene cure.

A medical check up is advised when starting a cure. The doctor will work with you to create your schedule and to respond to your need for advice before your cure.

A qualified and attentive team of professionals.

The treatments need to be carried out and supervised by experienced staff, trained in different treatment techniques: physiotherapist, hydro-therapist, dietician, sports instructors, beauticians and many more.

An optimal hygiene and security guarantee.

Thalassotherapy centres are subjected to very rigorous regulatory constraints and are regularly controlled looking especially at seawater quality and the marine products used during treatments.

Standardized and well-maintained systems.

The accredited centres have specially designed, top quality high-tech equipment, that is constantly serviced to comply with the quality standards and to optimise the use of seawater:

- Multi-jet hydro-massaging baths, some equipped with chromo-therapy (the bath water is lit with different colours using fibre optics. Essential oils or liquid seaweed can also be added. The jet streams and bubbles micro-massage your skin).

- Underwater shower (large 600l bath which allows the entire body to be massaged with a powerful under water jet).

- Control handset for various jets or showers (equipment in the hydro-massage cabins such as the Big Jet, Big Shower, Circulation Shower etc).

- Mobile or static affusion ramps (they diffuse a fine spray of warm seawater and can accompany bodywork).

- Underwater jet pools (powerful underwater jets giving a deep back massage.)

- Seaweed wrap cabins (they are equipped with warming sheets or table to maintain a good body temperature once wrapped in seaweed cream).

- Aerosol marine (in individual posts or mists in a lounge. These installations recreate the natural effects of the seaside climate.)

- Kine-balneotherapy pools (warm seawater basins for pool rehabilitation, they are sometimes accompanied by a blast of cold seawater for bad circulation).

- ‘Dry’ facilities, massage rooms, rehabilitation or gymnastics studios and relaxation lounge.
